It seems that each
day that goes by brings about more and more vintage clip art
articles and resources becoming available on the Internet. Or maybe itâ??s just
my perception because I like the art form so much. But Iâ??m not the only one.
This type of collectible art is gaining in popularity and is called ephemera,
which is defined as art that was intended for one-time or short-term use only,
like pamphlets, flyers and posters.

Regardless
of its intended use, ephemera seems to appeal mainly to people within a
specific age group. As luck would have it, the very people within that
demographic generally have enough discretionary funds to pay for their
indulgences in the craft world, so it has created a new sector of Internet
business that seems to be flourishing. The only possible down side to this
phenomenon is that the value of such imagery might become diluted because there
is just so much of the original artwork that is considered vintage; the rest of
it is no doubt newer renderings made to look old.
